The original, handcrafted Indian Constitution was intricately illustrated by artist Nandalal Bose and his team from Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan. Each of the 22 parts of the Constitution begins with an illustration tracing the history of India—from Mohenjo Daro to the national freedom struggle. What you see above is a depiction of Buddha’s enlightenment in Part 5. At present, the text is kept in a special helium-filled case in the Indian Parliament Library. You can view the photolithographic reproductions of the entire constitution here.

The Lensculture black and white photography awards celebrate a world captured in monochrome. One of our favourites is ‘The Dance of Fire’ taken by José Antonio Flores Garcia, which is about the people in Tultepec—the fireworks capital of Mexico—“who dance in the flames, sparks and fire and offer their bodies and blood to the bulls of fire.”

We love everything about this clip of husband-wife duo Aaliya and Rohit Gijare bringing out their classical dance A-game to Aditya Rao’s Carnatic iteration of Sam Smith-Kim Petras’ ‘Unholy’. We love this one titled ‘MahaGanapathim’ as well.
