Here’s something to inspire you on a hump day morning. David Popa is the most unusual kind of street artist. While graffiti masters like Banksy create on walls or trains, Popa uses a mix of natural pigments, charcoal, and chalk to ‘paint’ earth murals—astonishing portraits writ large on ice floes and mountainsides.
He says: “I am looking for locations that are stunning from above and appear to be latent with buried life—waiting to be uncovered.” Like this portrait painted on the remnants of a glacier in the Lofoten Islands in Norway. You can many more breathtaking examples over on his Insta handle—or see a collection here.
