The initial effect of Diljin Krishnan’s photo-series—titled ‘The Human Honey’—is confusing, amusing, perhaps even jarring. What are we looking at? This is Krishnan’s rendition of a chubby man’s quest to be desired and loved in a world that is obsessed with perfect bodies. The unique photos combine humour, bathos and intelligence—forcing the viewer to step back and look again. Here’s how Krishnan describes these images:
A chubby human imagines of making a kingdom of his own were he is made of honey. Were flowers bloomed on his head ,bees & butterflies flew around . He seeks attention. He wants people to crave for him, love him, care for him.
You can check out more photos from the series over on Instagram and read about the project here.
