Our fave is this dreamy painting of ‘Past Lives’ star Greta Lee by Aryo Toh Djojo—which perfectly captures the essence of her and the movie. The tiny UFO-like detail at the top right corner—is Djojo’s signature—which he describes as a representation of “the characters watching themselves. This striking photo—which rivals the surrealism of a René Magritte painting—is titled simply ‘Shirley’. Taken by Claudette Holmes, it is part of the book ‘Shining Light’—which features groundbreaking photographs by Black female photographers from the 1980s and 1990s in Britain.
