You should watch: Akash Banerjee’s video on a report by Reporter’s Collective that looked at welfare schemes under the Modi government. The report specifically looks at the crop price support scheme PM AASHA. The scheme was meant to protect the income of millions of farmers who grow pulses and oilseeds. However, the report found that most of the money was pumped into the scheme only during the years 2019 and 2024. Guess why.
