To kick off the last week of splainer in 2022, here is a gorgeous duet—’Aey Na Balam’—featuring Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab and sitarist Anoushka Shankar. Aftab won the Grammy last year for best global music performance for ‘Mohabbat’. The duo have also been nominated this year for the haunting ‘Udhero Na’—which is worth checking out as well.

‘Tis the season for Christmas-themed art. And we offer you something a little different from the usual Nativity scenes beloved in classical art. This vivid 1894 painting—‘Journey of the Magi’—is by James Tissot, a man better known for his iconic images of fashionable French women. Both The Guardian and WideWalls have a lovely collection of great seasonal artwork.
