The words ‘British’ and ‘wildlife’ don’t exactly go together in our mind. However, there is indeed an annual British Wildlife Photography award. Okay, so there aren’t any tigers or wildebeest in the mix. But we appreciate the wry (and very British) humour of some of the winners. Like this one of titled ‘Hitching a Lift’ by James Roddie—who offers this context to this comical orgy:
The common toad migration to their spawning grounds can be a spectacular event to watch. As the large females make their way to the water, the smaller males approach them to try and hitch a lift. It can result in some amusing behaviour, as multiple males will often try to mount the same female.
We wonder what the female makes of that lol! You can see the other lovely entries over at the awards website or The Guardian.

We absolutely adore Annie Ahluwalia’s version of ‘13-13 Tera Tera’. We rarely say this but don’t miss this one.
