A list of intriguing things
One: Last week, we told you about the weirdest looking library in the world. This time, it’s time for gorgeous post offices. Of Architectural Digest’s list of the best, we love the Palacio de Correos de México in Mexico City. Built in 1907, it makes us nostalgic for the pre-email era. The lead image captures just how gorgeous it is. FYI: the central post office for Kolkata also makes it to the top 11. You can see the Palacio’s stunning staircases below.
Two: Taipei’s hottest foodie trend involves a 14-legged crustacean. People queue for hours to pay $48 for a limited-edition noodle bowl with the special ingredient—i.e the isopod. WTF is an isopod, you ask?
Giant isopods—a distant cousin of crabs and prawns—are the largest among the thousands of species in the crustacean group, the NOAA Ocean Exploration said on its website. They are usually found about 170-2,140 metres (186-2,340 yards) deep in the ocean, with 80% of them living at a depth of 365-730 metres.
FYI: According to customers, “the meat tastes like a cross between crab and lobster with a dense texture and some chewiness.” You can see it below. (CNN)
Three: Up in the freezing climes of Alaska, there is an unusual dog-sitting company called Mo Mountain Mutts. What makes it special is that the dogs are transported in a ‘school bus’—much like kids. Doesn’t sound like much until you actually see how it works. It’s quite astonishing. (KBNS)
