A list of intriguing food things
One: Fancy a Dunkin Donut lip gloss? The latest in bizarre—and totally off-brand—partnerships is a collab between Dunkin and e.l.f Cosmetics. The limited-edition makeup collection includes the following:
“Dunkin' Dozen scented eyeshadow palette, with its colors of shimmery pink, blue, yellow and chocolate brown, two ‘Glazed for Days’ lip glosses, a coffee-scented lip scrub, makeup brushes shaped like straws. There's even a makeup sponge that resembles a strawberry-frosted donut with confetti sprinkles and an e.l.f-Dunkin'-branded coffee cup.”
Btw, e.l.f is now the expert in food-inspired makeup—having aced a previous collab with Chipotle. (CNN)
Two: Hmm, we don’t know how we feel about combining shit and food. But the poop emoji (this one: 💩) is popping up in the most unexpected place: restaurant dishes! That’s food served with a ‘poop swoop’ of everything from chicken liver mousse to chocolate icing and whipped ricotta. Ok, that’s not what the originator of the trend—Manhattan chef Fabián von Hauske Valtierra—intended to create but he’s happy to take the credit: “I’m surprised by this trend, but I’m happy. I think we paved the way to allow people to make food that looks like poop emojis and not feel bad about it.” Lol! Eater has more on the ‘poop swoop’.
Three: In comparison to potty-inspired khana, a ‘Boozy Bunny’ sounds perfectly acceptable—until you actually think about drinking it? Anyhoo, that’s what Disney is offering this Easter at its Florida resort—a chocolate easter bunny filled with bourbon. Wait a second: over-excited kids, long lines, exhausting rides… we’d take bourbon with chicken liver mousse if offered! (People)
Four: Moving on from strange food stories… We never did anything for April Fool’s Day—maybe because it’s become so lame. And we could never match the brilliance of BBC News’ flagship program Panorama—which pulled off the great ‘spaghetti tree’ hoax back in 1957. People actually called in to ask how they could grow their own.
