Over to Rohini…
Here are five things that I love in my day-to-day life that might make your life better, somehow.
😍 Posca pens: I’m so grateful to my friend Mayur for introducing me to the life-changing Posca pens, an opaque, water-based paint marker that can be literally used to doodle on every material possible. I love the vibrant colours available, and how they can add life to any surface with a few colourful dots. I personally love using them to doodle on leaves and flowers, but they work just as wonderfully on paper as well. A must-have for anyone artistically inclined (or otherwise).
🎵 Flow State: While I have a fairly love-hate relationship with my inbox, the one email I do look forward to everyday is a newsletter called Flow State by Marcuse, which sends one instrumental music recommendation to help you focus every weekday + offers background on the artist and featured music. I’ve found some real gems here that totally get me into a flow state:) Some gems I’ve discovered so far: Gardener, Arooj Aftab, Jeannine Schulz and Andrea Porcu among so many others.
💻 Notion: I’ve tried every kind of project management/note taking tool but nothing has felt more intuitive and useful as Notion. It’s a free, super clean, distraction-free tool with templates that can help you plan/track every aspect of your life—bills, to-do lists, inventories, calendars, progress tracking, you name it! PS: Download the desktop app for a seamless experience.
🤓 Creative Mornings’ Field Trips: One of my favourite discoveries during the pandemic was these “virtual meetups to interact, learn and collaborate in an effort to level-up your creative life”. I’ve been learning/experiencing these sessions on and off, from comic-making to museum walks to breathwork and qigong. I even hosted a zine-making workshop back in 2020 for over 300 participants across the globe. Super inspiring community, with something new to learn everyday.
🎥 Good Moves: One of my favourite black holes on the internet is Good Moves, which highlights incredible motion design videos every single day. I have found some brilliant films and animators on this platform, and subscribe to the weekly round-up.
