A list of intriguing things
One: Say hello to the DogPhone—which consists of a small ball equipped with a sensor and connected to a laptop. When a dog moves the ball, the “phone” initiates a video call to the dog’s owner. Your pooch can even answer an incoming call. Cool, right? Sadly, it won’t be going on sale anytime soon—and was developed primarily to see how dogs interact with technology. Below is a fun report on the latest ‘smart dog’ phones. (Gizmodo)
Two: Remember the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants? Here is something way cooler: The sisterhood of the travelling red dress. Over a period of 12 years, 240 people took part and embroidered an image onto this dress—an image that represents themselves and their culture. It’s the brainchild of British artist Kirstie Macleod who wanted to help marginalised women tell their stories through embroidery.
Three: Equally heartening: This Business Insider report on Thaely—as in the Hindi word for bag. The Indian footwear company turns 10 plastic bags and 12 bottles into a $100 pair of sneakers—which they ship around the world.
Four: On a lighter note, this may be the oddest trend in apparel: The Jurse. We leave you to watch and wonder.
