This is Vayetse, an adult male lion from a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa—surrounded by Zulu tribespeople. And the stunning image—taken by world-renowned photographer David Yarrow—is titled ‘Catwalk’: “the image is a metaphor for a time when lions will be admired and photographed by all, in just the same way as supermodels on catwalks, rather than hunted as big game trophies, for profit, or because they are seen as a threat to livestock.” Of course, models are also trophies for men—but that’s a whole nother can of worms.
