Sanity Break #1

Edward Burtynsky’s work finds shocking beauty in scenes of destruction—quarrying, mining, recycling, oil refining and ship breaking. The images both mesmerise and repulse all at once. ‘Anthropocene’ is the title of this documentary trailer, but also there’s a compelling series of photographs taken during the filming.

Sanity Break #2

Two sisters from Thiruvananthapuram—Aanya and Arunitha Mohan—composed the tune for and sang a German song. The music video was created by their father who roped in a friend in Germany to shoot footage from Berlin. But there isn’t a single scene with the Mohans?! In any case, do enjoy this German song sung by Indians who don’t speak a word of it. It’s quite an achievement!
