This year, there are 37 songs competing for the top honours at the Eurovision Song contest—the cooler, more fun cousin of the Grammys. The fave to win this year is Croatia—specifically, ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’ by Baby Lasagna. Our personal pick is ‘The Code’ by the Swiss singer Nemo—which BBC News describes as a “hare-brained hybrid of pop, opera and electro.” The song borrows from Bizet’s ‘Carmen’ and Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’ to explain how they came to terms with their non-binary identity. You can listen to all the entries here. BBC News has a useful guide, as well.
