On Wednesday night, the world witnessed a rare “super blue moon.” Our favourite pic is this one of the moon above the spire of the Galata Tower in Istanbul. FYI: a super moon looks 14% larger than when it is farthest to Earth—and we usually get only one every month. But this was the second supermoon for August—which is what makes it rare or ‘blue’. What made this exceptional: the next moon of its kind won't be seen until January 2037. And it coincided with Rakhi celebrations! BBC News has more pics.
