This sanity break is not exactly upbeat. It pays tribute to the art of legendary Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko. Twenty five of her paintings—displayed at a museum near her hometown—were destroyed during the invasion. Another 650 held by the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Applied Art in Kyiv are at great risk—as Russians move to take the city. The one above is aptly titled ‘A Dove Has Spread Her Wings And Asks for Peace.’ You can read more about her work here, and see more examples of her lovely work here.
