The spring-summer 2022 Dior collection unveiled at the Paris Couture Week had a stunning backdrop: large-scale panels featuring the work of Indian artists Madhvi and Manu Parekh. These were not paintings, however, but textile renditions of their artwork—handcrafted by Mumbai-based Chanakya School of Craft. FYI: They employed 320 master artisans, who handcrafted 3,600 square feet (340 square meters) of embroidery in a span of more than three months.
