During the search, evidence of huge suppression of income by the leading film production house compared to the actual box office collections has been unearthed. The company officials have not been able to explain the discrepancy of around Rs 300 crore.

That’s from a statement put out by the Finance Ministry justifying the raids on over 30 locations linked to director Anurag Kashyap, producers Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena and actor Taapsee Pannu in Mumbai and Pune. Both Pannu and Kashyap were questioned for six hours “based on the evidence which the officials already have. The department has many leads and seizures have taken place during the raids.”
