In the aim to glorify the screen character of 'Ex-Flt Lt Gunjan Saxena', Dharma Productions presented some situations that are misleading and portray an inappropriate work culture especially against women in the IAF.
That’s part of a letter written by the Indian Air Force to the Central Board of Film Certification complaining about ‘Gunjan Saxena’—a Netflix film that tells the story of the first woman pilot to fly in combat during the 1999 Kargil conflict. Apparently, the IAF objects to scenes and dialogues that suggest gender bias within the service—which it insists is completely false. OK IAF. Illustration: Parth Savla.

The TLDR: A fact-finding report by the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) shows that the Delhi police violently assaulted 70 protesters on February 10—when Jamia Milia students and local residents took out a peaceful march challenging the Citizenship Amendment Act. Of these, 45 people were sexually brutalised, including men and women. Alleged victims were between the ages of 15-60. Underlining its message: A frightening attack on three Caravan magazine journalists.
