Get ready for a reboot of the classic ‘The Color Purple’—which will be remade as a musical. It is a joint production of Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey—who are essentially taking the 2016 Broadway version to the big screen—with most of its cast. We love the cast—Taraji P. Henson, Colman Domingo, H.E.R. and Halle Bailey—but remain sceptical about making it a musical.
