A list of intriguing things
One: We love this cheeky ad campaign by Pepsi—where they used origami to sneak their logo onto the wrappers of three restaurant chains which serve Coke: McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King. The tagline: “while we’re not on the menu, we’re always in the picture.” Well played! AdWeek has more.
Two: South Korean artist Yeon helps women cover up self-harm scars with lovely flower tattoos. BBC News has a lovely report.
Three: Did you know the new wellness thing is something called a ‘yoni massage’: “a Tantric practice based on Hindu tradition that involves massaging the vulva and vagina in a mindful way.” Apparently, it helps increase blood circulation to your vulva and vagina, increase your genital sensitivity, develop greater body awareness and connects you to your own sexual pleasure. Insider has a step-by-step guide in case you need one.
Four: Forget fake videos of Tom Cruise! Scientists are now using AI to make deepfake maps—where they swap out features of one city with another. Why this is a little alarming: “Imagine a world where a state government, or other actor, can realistically manipulate images to show either nothing there or a different layout.” For example, below is a part of Tacoma (a and b) made to look like Seattle (c) or Beijing (d). Ars Technica explains how they did it.
