A list of curious facts
One: Here are two curious pet adoption facts. For starters, shelters have figured out that it is actually easier to get an animal adopted if you give them a weird or quirky name. For example: this guinea pig named Constructive Criticism (Or it may just be because he is adorable).
The other way to hook up your shelter pets? Put them on Tinder like this Munich shelter:
Two: The longest word in the English language is Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. It means a disease of the lungs caused by the inhalation of very fine silicate or quartz dust and occurring especially in miners. Just FYI. And If you feel like flexing your Shashi Tharoorian muscles, Merriam Webster has an excellent list of 17 oversized words.
Three: The best airport in the world? Nope, it ain’t Singapore. This year the top honour went to the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport was #2, followed by Singapore’s Changi airport. FYI: This tour video of Hamad is pretty fun.
Four: Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens call themselves ‘ecosexuals’—people committed to treating our planet as a lover in order to save it. And they have already gotten married to the Earth… and to the sky, snow, moon, sun etc. Ok, the weddings are really a kind of performance art, but point taken.
