So you can’t afford Master Class…
MasterWiki promises to give you all the same gyaan for free! TBH, we don’t know what to make of a site that proudly boasts: “We stole MasterClass' content and turned it into wikiHow articles.” But hey, it exists and has been covered in the media—and nobody has sued it yet. 🤔
So you want to sing the national anthem…
On August 15? Head over to Google’s ‘Sound of India’ and record your stellar version of ‘Jana Gana Mana’. The tool converts your voice into the sounds of a bansuri, sarangi or shehnai. One slight problem: you have to download the recording to share it. Note: this only works on your phone.
So you want to watch something…
This week’s selection is brought to you by our founding member Geetika Varshney who is always on the hunt for her next binge-watch—and she posts her view-list on her Insta handle @whatdoiwatchtoday.
Train To Busan: Think ‘Burning Train’ + zombies. Yes, zombies! This South Korean film—now available on Netflix—tells the story of a father and daughter who find themselves trapped on a train during a zombie outbreak. There’s lots of high suspense, drama and you may find yourself screaming at the screen from time to time.
Julie & Julia: This is a cinematic adaptation of the real-life story of a food blogger who cooked 534 recipes in 365 days from a cookbook written by Julia Child. This is a great treat for all foodies! Also: Meryl Streep. Just saying. Watch it on Netflix.
The Hungry: Based on Shakespeare’s ‘Titus Andronicus’, this is a dark and twisted story—starring Tisca Chopra and Naseerudin Shah—of a mother on a mission to avenge her son’s death. Warning: Bornila Chatterjee’s direction is uneven at times but the cinematography is lovely. Available on Amazon Prime.
