That’s Kangana Ranaut launching an unprovoked and ugly attack on illustrator Priyanka Paul on Twitter. The trigger: Paul shared her struggle with anxiety and depression in response to a tweet asking people to raise awareness. Yup, that’s it. After it provoked fierce backlash, Ranaut tried to backtrack and bizarrely sent Paul “a hug.”
Editor’s note: Lots of people would call Ranaut’s behaviour “crazy” or “nuts”—using the very same words that are deployed to dismiss people living with mental health issues. Now, Ms Ranaut may indeed be dealing with such problems. But more accurately, she may have revealed herself to be a terrible human being. One has nothing to do with the other.
